How do I use this calculator?
To accurately calculate the present value of a structured settlement or annuity, first enter the appropriate discount rate (8- 20%) followed by the payment stream of the settlement or annuity. To calculate the total number of payments, please use the number of guaranteed payments left in the cash flow (i.e. 120 payments = 10 years). Life contingent years are more expensive due to the life insurance that needs to be purchased for these types of transactions. An increase in the discount rate is required for life contingent cases.
