Marketing Standards For Structured Settlement Factoring Companies

Novation CapitalJohn Darer of Structured Settlements 4 Real noticed an advertisement created by Novation Capital, claiming they can get your structured settlement money today. This is a clear example of false advertising. This author believes that this is an honest mistake made by the marketing department of Novation Capital. Novation is owned by Robin Marc Shapiro, who is the current President of the NASP (National Association of Settlement Purchasers). Mr. Shapriro knows that it is impossible to get a tort victim a lump sum of money in exchange for their future payments in one day.

Structured Settlement NewsNovation Capital is not the only company that has had its problems with an outsourced marketing company. Woodbridge Investments was spamming structured settlement blogs with automated comment spam noted in this post. The owner of Woodbridge was also unaware what his marketing company was doing to disrupt the persona of their company. These types of advertising tactics not only make that company look deceptive, but also make the entire factoring industry look misleading.

Since the NASP or legislators will not stand up to enforce marketing tactics, it is time for representatives from respected factoring companies to create marketing standards for their own companies. These standards do not have to be extensive, but they should cover the basic laws of the industry. These lists should be passed on to the marketing department of that company. This will help eliminate or reduce the confusion caused by false advertisements.

This author has never worked with Novation Capital, but from hear say Novation is a respectable company that does provide a great service to their clients. Hopefully Mr. Shapiro will straighten out the offender of the false advertisement.

Is Woodbridge Investments Confused?

This message was left on February 25th, 2008 by a representative of Woodbridge Investments.

[audio:http://www.structuredsettlement-quotes.com/audio/15615442120-0225-130414-407.mp3]

Jennifer states in her voice message that Woodbridge brokers structured settlement factoring transactions, but quickly changes her mind once she realized what she stated.

Woodbridge is in fact a broker and does NOT purchase structured settlements or annuities.

Update on Woodbridge Investments Blog Spamming

Once again this author awoke to another magnificent comment in moderation of this blog’s comment section from non other than Woodbridge Investments. The irony of the comment was that it was placed on the following blog post: Do you want to Create a Structured Settlement?

Here is the comment:

“If you are currently receiving monthly or annual payments from a structured settlement, lottery or casino jackpot, or any other kind of annuity, there’s no reason to wait for your money. Woodbridge Investments will buy structured settlements for cash!”

Maybe Woodbridge didn’t quite understand the meaning of that particular post. Regardless, I decided to give them a call once again. This time a gentleman answered the phone and wouldn’t give me the time of day when I told the reason I was calling. I wonder if that is the way he speaks to a tort victim when they call trying to sell their settlement payments?

I then proceeded to use their contact form and state the following: PLEASE STOP SPAMMING MY BLOG!

Apparently this got someones attention because I received this email from Bob Shapiro a few minutes later:

“I don’t know what these means but I have forwarded your email to my seo and ppc guys to ask and to correct whatever it is your talking about.

Will the madness stop? We will see…………………

Woodbridge Investments Still Spamming Structured Settlement Blogs

Didn’t Woodbridge Investments (woodbridgeinvestments.com) get the idea when John Darer called out their spamming techniques in this post?

For the past few days Woodbridge Investments has continued to spam this blog. Here is the latest comment:

“Are you thinking about selling annuity payments?

Annuities guarantee a steady income over a long period of time. However, if you are currently holding an annuity, you could reap big benefits by selling annuity payments for a lump sum. You may have:

.Purchased an annuity to provide future income.
.Received a structured settlement from an insurance claim or lawsuit.
.Won the lottery or a casino jackpot.

You must try for good reason! Annuity Settlement

Who, Where, and Why?

The whois information on the above ip address states that this person resides in the Bronx, NY. Well who is in the Bronx, NY? It just so happens that the Search Engine Optimization company that Woodbridge Investments has hired is based out of the Bronx, NY.

I decided to give Woodbridge a call on Friday February 1st and inquire on the recent events. I spoke to a woman who was very surprised and concerned. I am still waiting for a return phone call.
